Install the CLI and matching skill together
Use an explicit target shown by ow agent --help when several supported Agent environments are present.
npx @owlcompose/cli@latest setup --target autoRestart and verify discovery
Restart the Agent process when it was already running during installation. Doctor checks the detected skill directory and the embedded release contract.
ow --version
ow agent doctor --target autoUpdate without version drift
Use the same command for updates. It moves the globally installed CLI and embedded skill to the same release.
npx @owlcompose/cli@latest setup --target autoRemove managed skill copies
ow agent uninstall --target allRemoving the skill does not remove the CLI, Hosted works, or saved account credentials.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the Agent not see the skill immediately?
An already-running Agent may cache its skill inventory. Restart it, then run doctor again.
Can I copy a skill from a different CLI release?
Do not mix releases. Rerun setup so the CLI and embedded skill are installed from the same package version.

Install the CLI, author in OWX, validate locally, and publish a private work. Create a reader link only when you are ready to share.
